Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music is like the most cathartic rock gig experience! There was love in the theatre last night.
Is your secret desire to star in the 1965 film The Sound of Music? Do you know every word to the soundtrack on vinyl, 8-track, or cassette that you listened to in your teen bedroom? Well, Sing-A-Long-a Sound of Music is your chance to sing at the top of your lungs while watching the Julie Andrews classic!
Don’t worry, you won’t miss a word because the subtitles make it easy to sing along with the von Trapp family! Feel free to yodel! A host leads the audience through a vocal warm up, accompanying zany actions and “magic moments fun pack” with props to use at strategic moments in the film.
Sing-A-Long-a Sound of Music is not just a movie, but an event. The Long Center for the Performing Arts is the perfect opulent venue to watch Maria go from wannabe nun to nanny to Nazi escapee while you sing your heart out. This event is a world-wide phenomenon that has filled the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles—7 times!
Come dressed as your favorite Sound of Music character or inanimate object (Be a brown paper package tied up with string!) as you belt out My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, Climb Every Mountain and, of course, The Sound of Music. Then join the costume parade and “Fancy Dress Competition.”
Calling all goat herders, Baronesses, and girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes! The Greater Lafayette hills will come alive when you join the crazy fun of Sing-A-Long-a Sound of Music.
